Common House Fire Causes Pt. 2
6/19/2020 (Permalink)
We are back with part 2 of common house fire causes. We talked about several other issues with house fires in the previous post. We want to continue the most common causes here to round out the things to look for.
During the holidays real Christmas Trees are becoming a lot less common due to the amount of work associated with them. With a real tree you have to properly maintain it the entire time it is in your home. If it is dry the hanging lights on it could easily set it ablaze.
Candles are a big issue not matter where you live. Candles often get forgotten or are not properly maintained. A candle has to be maintained? Before you light a candle you need to make sure the wick is kept short enough to not be putting off large amounts of smoke. You also need to make sure it is properly placed away from flammable materials and on a fire safe stand.
Chemical fire are much less common than the other items on this list but are still something to be mindful of. Keep chemicals away from anything that could possibly have to do with a flame. Do not keep lighters in the same area as the chemicals either just to be safe.
