Flooding in the home whether due to excessive rain, a hurricane, or a pipe burst somewhere in the home is always nerve wracking. We want to give you a few tips to let you know what to do and not to do until help arrives.

What you SHOULD do after Flooding:

- Remove as much water from the home as possible

- Remove wet upholstery and cushions

- Turn A/C on the highest setting for faster drying in warm months

- Remove rugs and wet carpeting

- Move art to a dry unharmed area

- Clear any items that maybe on the floor

What you SHOULDN'T do after Flooding:

- Do not leave wet items in place

- Do not leave reading material on wet carpeting or floors

- Do not use your regular household vacuum to try and remove excess water

- Do not use your appliances

- Do not turn on lights or ceiling fans if the ceiling is wet or damp. Stay out of the area if the ceiling is starting to fall.
